Joseph R. “Ray” Harding, 80, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Upper Marlboro, Md., passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Harbor Health Care in Lewes, Del. He had been a supervisor for the C. & P. Telephone Co., retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fenwick Island Lions Club, the Ocean City Elks Club and the Telephone
Pioneers of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Harding was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Marie Newyear Harding; and his wife, Mary B. Harding. He is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Harding and his wife Brenda of Selbyville, Del. and J.J. Harding and his wife Teresa of Dunkirk, Md.; a daughter, Lynne H. Watson and her husband Wallace of Bethany Beach, Del.; and four grandchildren, Brian, Amber, Crystal and Brandi Harding.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at noon at Hastings Funeral Home, 19 South Main Street in Selbyville, Del., where friends may call at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
