Robert M. Burke Jr., 64
Robert M. Burke Jr., 64, of Dagsboro, formerly of Elmwood Park, N.J., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at home. He was formerly employed by Marcal Paper Mill and Passaic Valley Sewage Water Commission.
Burke is survived by his wife, Marie Giambarrese Burke; his sister, Barbara Tymann; his children, Robert Burke and his wife Melissa, Annmarie McFarlane and her husband Doug, Vincent Burke and his wife Toni, Christopher Burke and his wife Barbara, Francis Burke, Thomas Burke, Liam Burke and his wife Linda, Ryan Burke and his fiancé MiYu; his daughter-in-law, Krista Burke; 13 grandchildren; two step-children, Kevin Ryan and his wife Tanya of Wisconsin, and Denise Feely and her husband Jim of East Rutherford, N.J.; and one step-grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Georgetown. Family members and friends may meet at Watson Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. on Friday morning to process to the church. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington Street in Millsboro.

Norman Conaway
Norman Conaway of Gumboro passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He received many honors for bravery in World War II, including the Bronze Star. A retired farmer, he enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a member of the American Legion in Laurel.
Conaway was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Olivette Moore Conaway; and a brother, Raymond Conaway. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hazel Brasure Conaway; his children, Norma Toomey and her husband Dennis of Gumboro, Diane Holston and her husband Paul of Gumboro, Lorie Stevens and her husband Donald of Dagsboro; two brothers, Preston Conaway of Laurel and Herman Conaway of Clifton Park, N.Y.; his sister, Ruth Waller of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Denise Short and her husband Steve, Brian Toomey, Daniel Holston and Kyle Stevens; and one great-grandson, Dillon Toomey.
Services were scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, with interment in Line United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mabel C. Evans, 97
Mabel C. Evans, 97, of Greenville, N.C., formerly of Selbyville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Cypress Glen United Methodist Retirement Center. She was a lifelong resident of Selbyville until declining health prompted a move to be near immediate family in North Carolina when she was 94. She spent most of her working life as a bookkeeper but may best be remembered as the owner/operator of Fenwick Crab House with her husband. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville.
Evans was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Carrie Tingle Campbell; her husband, Cashar W. Evans Sr.; and her sister, Hester C. Warren. Thankful for her long and active life are her son, Cashar Jr. (Webbie) and his wife Roberta; her grandchildren, Jeanine and her husband Brian, Lynwood and his wife Chrissy; and four great-grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Ginger and Anna McLean. She was also loved by her extended family of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many friends.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, with services at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Redmen’s Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Redmen’s Cemetery Fund, 69 Cemetery Road, Selbyville, DE 19975; or Cypress Glen Methodist Retirement Center, Memory Care Cottage, 100 Hickory Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
Thomas C. Goldhahn, 70
Thomas C. Goldhahn, 70, of Milton, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. He was a retired roofer with Russell Myers Construction Company. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Milford. He loved fishing and his golden retriever Ginger.
Goldhahn was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas L. and Marie Stinger Goldhahn; and his step-mother, Helen Goldhahn. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret (Peggy) Goldhahn; son, Thomas C. Goldhahn II of Milton; step-son, Joseph Daniels of Fla.; step-daughter, Teresa Steltzer of Newark; step-sisters, Helen Camponile, Joanne Goldhahn, Betty Larkin; sister-in-law, Christine Cahill of Chadsford, Pa.; cousin, Charles Kowchuk of Wilmington; and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Stacie, Meghan, Ryan and Bryan.
Services and burial will be private.
Michael J. Panco Jr., 68
Michael J. Panco Jr., 68, of Annapolis, Md., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. After serving with the United States Navy, he was a builder, contractor and salesman with Milton W. Bosley Construction of Glen Burnie, Md. He was the former owner of Surf and Sand Construction of Lower Sussex County and introduced timber frame/post-and-beam construction to the area.
Panco was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Panco Sr. He is survived by his mother, Anna Panco; his son, Michael J. Panco III; and two daughters, Laurie and Michelle.
