PRMC offers Motherwell program

Motherwell, a Peninsula Regional Medical Center-sponsored health and fitness program for pregnant women and new mothers, is currently being held in Salisbury.

Motherwell is a medically approved, non-vigorous exercise program designed to reduce common pregnancy discomforts, enhance circulation and improve muscle tone. Organizers of the program said participants report more comfort during pregnancy, a greater tolerance for labor and delivery, safer birth outcomes for mother and baby, and an ability to resume pre-pregnancy shape and activity levels sooner. Motherwell participants must have approval from their physician or nurse-midwife.

Participants purchase a punch card for $25, which is good for admission to a total of eight classes in the Motherwell series anytime the class meets during the year. Participants who wish to continue beyond the initial eight classes may purchase additional punch cards for the same $25 fee, which are also good for eight classes. The first class is complimentary.

Classes will be held in the Peninsula Cardiology Building, 3rd Floor Classroom at 400 Eastern Shore Drive, Salisbury, Md., most Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Call (410) 543-7126 for further information or visit the Classes and Events section of the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Web site at www.peninsula.org for online registration.
