It may have only been last year since Margie Liebrich relocated to Millsboro from her home in the Washington, D.C., suburbs, and it may be less than a month since she started providing her expertise at Trendz Salon in Millville. But this licensed esthetician — also called aesthetician — is bringing a knowledge and experience to the area unmatched by many for miles around.

Margie Liebrich with Trendz proprietor Kimberly Cullen. Liebrich is a licensed aesthetician who graduated from Von Lee School of Aesthetics.
Now, locals and visitors to the area don’t have to look far to find top-quality skin care, make-up, facial artistry and the latest sterile procedures available.
Liebrich is a graduate of Von Lee School of Aesthetics, rated top in the country by Spa Magazine and named as the best esthetics school in the United States by Aesthetics World Magazine.
“It was an incredible experience,” Liebrich said of her training. “I had always been interested in skin care and I was able to find people who could teach me it all.”
Liebrich, who has been in the esthetic field for 26 years, said that even today, there are constantly new aspects she is learning.
“It’s such a great business to be in,” she said. “I thought I had seen it all working in the D.C. area, but I’m always experiencing things I’ve never seen before. There’s so much out there and the field is ever-changing.”
She had spent 15 years in the D.C.-Georgetown-Bethesda area, working on primarily commissioned projects for skin care and make-up. Many of her clients included celebrities in the Washington area and local news media.
“A lot of people who were going to be seen by others or go on TV needed to look their best,” she said. She also provided post-op facials in coordination with some of the top plastic surgeons on the East Coast. “There are many great people, and you get to experience a lot.” Liebrich also spent quite some time as a volunteer, providing facial treatments at a hospice in Howard County, Md.
Liebrich, who had vacationed in Bethany with family for decades, said she is looking forward to the new change.
“It’s a great place to be, and there’s still a need for this here,” she said. “It’s a good change, and I’m really happy to be starting up here.”
At Trendz, Liebrich provides her knowledge, offering a variety of specific and targeted facial treatments, including hydradermie and liftosome specialties. She works as an independent contractor, with on-call services, so appointments are mandatory.
Treatments — most of which are categorized as being corrective or preventative — can centralize on the face, neck and around the eyes, incorporating vitamins and gels that not only provide aesthetic and visual improvements, but are accompanied by a multitude of health benefits, as well, Liebrich noted.
“That’s one thing that’s very important with this field,” she said. “These treatments are not all just facials, and it’s not all for looks. Everything I do can help preserve the skin and keep your body healthy.”
Her treatments specialize in the Guinot line, a well-known French brand of facial and skin care products. European facials and waxing are also among her specialties.
As the harsh weather starts to move in, now is the time that many people are signing up for specialized treatment.
“You really need to take care of your skin year-round,” Liebrich said. “It changes with the seasons, and it’s important to keep your skin healthy and looking good. We abuse our skin in the summertime, and in the winter, it needs to be exfoliated.”
A person’s skin and face can say a lot about them, she added. “Everything shows up on our skin,” Liebrich said. “We can’t hide it: if we don’t get enough sleep, if we’re stressed, if we overeat.”
Kimberlee Cullen, proprietor and stylist at Trendz, is optimistic about welcoming Liebrich aboard at the Salon.
“It’s a great feature to have here,” Cullen said, “and Margie is very knowledgeable and great to work with.” The esthetic treatments are an appealing accompaniment to Trendz’s current lineup, including haircuts and styling, coloring, perms, straightening and waxing.
