Carlton M. Jarmon, Sr., 78

Carlton M. Jarmon, Sr., 78, of Selbyville, Del. passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center Lewes, Del. He had been a life-long truck driver with many friends in the industry.
Jarmon is proceeded in death by his parents, Fred and Ida Whaley Jarmon; a sister, Reba Massey; three brothers, Floyd, Gardner, and Lester. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Allen Jarmon of Selbyville, Del.; son, Steve Edward Jarmon and wife Rosalyn of Salisbury, Md.; daughters, Jeanette McMillon and husband Robert of Frankford, Del., Michelle Harvey; and husband Kenny of Tallahassee, Fla., and Brenda Lee Jarmon of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Pearlis Jarmon of Millsboro, Del.; a sister, Charlotte Mitchell of Wilmington, Del.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; cousins and extended family.
Services are set for Monday, Mar. 15, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, Del. where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Berlin, Md.

Shelley Lynn Berry, 56

Shelley Lynn Berry, 56, of Conyers, Ga. passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at her home. She was a wife, mother and administrative assistant for the South Coastal District of The Wesleyan Church. She will long be known as a leader of women, a loving and capable mother and a wonderful wife and helpmeet to her husband as they labored in a life-time of Christian ministry.

Berry is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline Miller. She is survived by her husband, Dan A. Berry; two sons, Jason Daniel Berry and Joshua Robert Berry; and two sisters, Susan Green and Cheryl Barr.

A viewing is set for Monday, March 8, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Wages Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Ga. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the 12Stone Church in Lawrenceville, Ga. A graveside service is set for Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Roxana Cemetery in Roxana, Del. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her homegoing. Gordon E. “Gordy” Pepper, 69

Gordon E. “Gordy” Pepper, 69, of Selbyville, Del. passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.
Pepper was proceeded in death by his parents, Nelson and Irene Bunting Pepper. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Pepper.

Margaret L. Veasey, 89

Margaret L. Veasey, 89, of Dagsboro, Del. passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. She attended the Dagsboro Gospel Fellowship Church.
Veasey is proceeded in death by her parents, William and Anna (Atkins) Long; her loving husband, Willard Veasey; and her brothers, William, Norman, Charles and Preston “Bud” Long. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Veasey; her son, Willard Thomas Veasey, Jr. and his wife Vickie; granddaughter, Ashley M. Veasey; and a sister, Millie Davidson.

Richard E. Newman, Sr., 83

Richard E. Newman, Sr., 83, of near Georgetown, Del. passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at home. Before relocating to the beach 22 years ago, he lived in West Chester, Pa.  He was a heavy equipment operator working with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #542, Philadelphia, PA retiring in 1988 after 27 years of service. Newman was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post #28, Oak Orchard/Riverdale near Millsboro.
Newman is proceeded in death by his parents, Paul B. and Hazel A. Publicover Newman; his first wife, Dorothy Mae Newman; and a brother, Warren L. Newman. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Chambers Newman; a son, Richard E. (Sharon) Newman, Jr. of Laurel, Del; a daughter, Jodie Marie (Edward) Quinn of Middletown, Del.; three step sons, Raymond F. Chambers, Jr. of Georgetown, Del. Stephen M. (Joyce Shuster) Chambers of New Castle, Del. and Dale I. (Sherri) Chambers of Wilmington, Del.; a sister, Mabel E. Murray of Billirica, MA; a nephew, William Newman of Magnolia, MA; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.  
Services are set for Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N DuPont HWY, New Castle, Del. Herbert Wilson Price, Jr., 89

Herbert Wilson Price, Jr., 89, of Milford, Del. passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010. He worked in corporate real estate for several major oil companies (Esso, Atlantic and ARCO) and lived in many cities all across Virginia (Salem, Roanoke, Virginia Beach and, last but not least, Alexandria) where Bill and Helen finally settled for 30-plus years.  He was an active member and officer in the Fort Hunt Sportsman’s Association during the 1960s, '70s and '80s raising money for local youth sports. Upon retirement, he moved back to Delaware where they enjoyed a very full retirement with friends and family. One of the activities that filled their retirement was attending Blue Hen football games, both home and away, with their fellow UD fans. 
Price is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 63 years, Helen; his daughter, Carole Price White and husband Tony White of Oregon; daughter, Marie Price Corbin of Texas; and grandson, Kyle Corbin of Texas.  
A memorial service is set for Saturday, Mar. 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd, Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Milton "Mitt" A. Rosander, 89

  Milton "Mitt" A. Rosander, 89, of Rehoboth Beach, Del. passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. Before relocating to the beach 22 years ago, he lived in West Chester, Pa.  He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and enjoyed a long career with General Electric, Aerospace Division, King of Prussia, Pa. He loved the beach, working in his garage and NASCAR.  He proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was discharged with the rank of sergeant.  He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rehoboth Beach.Milton "Mitt" A. (Rommel) Rosander; two sons: Richard Rosander and his wife Linda of West Chester, Pa and Paul Rosander of North Palm Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Linnea Clompus and her husband Richard of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Lisa Tigue of West Chester, Pa. and Susan Congialdi and her husband Joseph of West Chester, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Norman Rosander and his wife Dorothy of Rydal, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Rosander of East Sandwich Bay, Mass.

Mance McCall Jr., 67

Mance McCall Jr., 67, of Berlin, Md. passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Del. He was a laboratory technician for A.W. Perdue & Sons in Parsonsburg retiring after 20 years of service; after this retirement he went to work for the Meatland store in Ocean Pines and then O.C. Seacrets. He was a 1960 graduate of Worcester High School in Newark and a 1964 graduate of Maryland State College (U.M.E.S.) in Princess Anne with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture and Education. He was a member of St. Paul U.M. Church in Berlin and was previously a member of St. John A.M.E. Church in Bishopville where he taught Sunday School for many years. He also served on the Worcester County Homeless Board and the Worcester County Citizen’s Review Panel.
McCall is proceeded in death by his parents,Mance Sr. and Georgeanna Dyer McCall; a brother, Claude H. McCall; a sister, Lillie Gainey; and a favorite close uncle, John Dyer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy Hudson McCall; his son, Mance McCall III and wife Denise of Hebron, Md.; his daughter, Valerie Lee and husband Earl of Fredericksburg, Va.; his sister, Mary M. Hall of Dagsboro, Del.; his two grandchildren, Earontel and Jasmine Lee; sister in law, Gail McCall; three aunts, Isabelle Jackson, Mildred Owens, and Grace Mann; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services are set for Friday Mar. 5, 2010 at 12 p.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 405 Flower Street, Berlin, Md. where friends may call two hours prior. Rev. Barbara Harmon and Gladys Gaynor will officiate the service. Friends and family may also call at the church on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Paul U.M. Church Cemetery, Assateague Road, Berlin, Md.

Margaret R. Reardon, 70

Margaret R. Reardon, 70, of Lewes, Del. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at home.
Reardon is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Janet MacLean; her ex-husband, Dennis A. Reardon; and her brother, Jack MacFarlane. She is survived by her son, Robert Reardon and his wife, Robin; her daughter, Nancy Reardon Millman and her husband Steve and their children Megan and Matthew Millman; her sister, Janet MacLean Armelin and her husband, Louis; and a very extended Reardon family with whom she remained very close.

Edward P. Quinn, 80

Edward P. Quinn, 80, of Selbyville, Del. passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. He had been a book binder for many years at Optic Bindery in Baltimore and Glen Burnie, Md. He was a member of the American Legion Post 24 of Oak Orchard and was a Korean War U.S. Army Veteran.
Quinn is proceeded in death by his parents, James and Frances (Smith) Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Quinn of Selbyville, Del.; a son, Michael J. Quinn of Chase, Md.; a daughter, Kelly Ann Quinn of Selbyville, Del. and one grandson.
A Memorial Mass is set for Monday, Mar. 1, 2010 at 12 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Nancy Lee Miller, 70

Nancy Lee Miller, 70, of Millsboro, Del. passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She was a chef at the Stockley Center near Georgetown, Del. retiring after 29 ½ years of service. She was an exceptional cook, loved working with crafts, a great mom and mom-mom, and a very lovable and likeable lady.
Miller is proceeded in death by her parents, Andrew and Reba Long; and by a brother, Andrew J. Long. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Reginald A. Miller; her son, Gerald L. Miller and wife Deborah of Millsboro, Del.; her daughter, Nancy A. Wright and husband Emory of Georgetown, Del.; her brother, Ronald Long and wife Margaret of Dagsboro, Del.; her sister, Connie Hudson and husband Charles of Dagsboro, Del.; her three grandchildren, Jerry Miller, Tiffany Crouch, and Trinity Crouch; several nieces; nephews; extended family; and her beloved canine friend, “Jasper” the Yorkie.
Services are set for Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at 12 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S Washington Street, Millsboro, Del. where friends may call one hour before the service. Rev. James S. Thomas, 72

James S. Thomas, 72, of Ocean View, Del. passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman who loved his dogs, Bear and Rusty. He had 26 years of sobriety and was a constant presence in the local AA meetings.
Thomas is proceeded in death by his parents, James and Frances (Smith) Thomas. He is survived by his sister, Helen Moran and her husband Patrick of Homosassa, Fla.; son, James V. Thomas of Brooklyn, Md.; daughters, Corine M. Kearney and her husband Bill of Pasadena, Md., Sean K. Cauffman and her husband Jack L. of Pasadena, Md.; and grandsons, Garrett J. Cauffman and Braeden T. Cauffman.
Services are set for Saturday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on West Avenue in Ocean View, where friend may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Grace H. Quillen, 96

Grace H. Quillen, 96, of Ocean View, Del. passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro, Del. She was a retired postmaster for Millville retiring after 31 years of service. She was a member of Ocean View Church of Christ for 80 years and the oldest charter member of the Millville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Quillen is proceeded in death by her parents, David and Katie (Lynch) Hall; by her husband,Elisha “Teak” Quillen. She is survived by her three daughters, JoAnne Mazes of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn Demby of Dover, Del. and Donna Townsend (Fred) of Millville, Del.; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Julie), Kristin (Ron), Trey (JoAnna), Christopher, Donna Jo (Aaron), Kyle, Todd, and Brent (Kathy); 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Helen Balamoti, 78

Helen Balamoti, 78, of Millville, Del. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. She retired as an administrative assistant working for the Department of Agriculture in
Beltsville, Md. A member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and their bowling league. She was also a longtime member of the Sportsettes, a club her and many friends formed in junior high school. Also a member of Delamarvalous Quilters Guild and the Blue Hen Homemakers. 
Balamoti is proceeded in death by her parents, Nicolas and Anastasia Panouchoplous; by her husband of 59 years, Johnny Michael Balamoti; and a son-in-law, Joseph O’Connor. She is survived by her son Michael Balamoti and wife Vickie of Laurel, Del.; daughters, Ann Cermak and husband Robert of Maryville, Tenn., Rebecca Mills and husband David of Ocean View, Del. and Cathleen O’Conner and her husband Joseph of Pasadena, Md.; a sister, Jean Stewart; sister-in-law, Fran Durham of Ocean Pines, Md; grandsons, Jonathan O’Conner, Christopher Mills, Nicholas Mills, Michael Cermak; a great-granddaughter, Callie O’Conner; and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Raymond S. Reifsnyder, Jr., 56

Raymond S. Reifsnyder, Jr., 56, of Millsboro, Del. passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. He grew up in East Orange, N.J., the second of three brothers. He was currently employed with George Sherman Corporation in Lewes, Del. as a plumber.  He enjoyed working, however in his free time he was heavily involved with AA and NA. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved going to the beach.
Reifsnyder is survived by his mother, Rose Marie Reifsnyder of Millsboro, Del.; two sons, Raymond S. Reifsnyder, III and his wife Elizabeth of Reading, Pa. and Peter Reifsnyder of Los Angeles, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Gracie, Michael, Owen and Jacob Reifsnyder.
A memorial service is set for Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at 5 p.m. at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends and family may call after 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Bernard Lee Boss, 84

Bernard Lee Boss, 84, of Selbyville, Del. passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at home. He had worked at National Elevator for many years and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. 
Boss was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Nettie (Webster) Boss. He is survived by his wife, Ellen G. Boss of Selbyville, Del.; two sons, Bernard L. Boss Jr. of Selbyville, Del. and Richard M. Boss of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Patricia Wolf of Millsboro, Del.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 
Services and burial will be private.

George Braun, 83

George Braun, 83, of Ocean View, Del. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He grew up in East Orange, Ne.J., the second of three brothers. After serving in World War II, he returned and attended Lafayette College, where he got his degree in geology but more important met Berenice, the girl who would become his wife of nearly 60 years. He devoted his entire working life to the service of his country, first in the U.S. Army in Europe in World War II, and later analyzing photographic intelligence for the defense department. After retiring, he moved to Ocean View and redirected his energy and passion to fishing, tennis and golf. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a faithful parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach.
Braun is survived by his wife, Berenice; two sons, Kevin of Livermore, Calif., Rick and Jim of Northern Va.; a brother, John of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, John, Jackie and Rachel.
A funeral Mass followed by a celebration of Braun's life is set for Friday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach. In honor of Braun’s life, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

James P. Reardon, 65

James P. Reardon, 65, of Millville, Del. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was a retired supervisor from Sun Oil. A dedicated firefighter for over 42 years and a lifetime member, past president and past chief of Collingdale Fire Company #1 where he also held numerous other positions. He was a member of Millville Volunteer Fire Company in Del. where his job was with the Fire Police. He was past President of Keystone State Fire Chief Association, and longtime board member of Collingdale Fireman's Relief Association, serving as treasurer for over 20 years. A member of Delaware Valley Fire Chief's Association, Firemen's Association of the State of Pennsylvania and Delaware County's Firemen's Association. He was a member of the Ancient Hibernians in Md. and a member of the Delmarva Association in Md. He was also a board member of the Banks Harbor Retreat Marina in Delaware. A member at St. Anne's Church in Bethany Beach, Del. and a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Collingdale, Pa.
 Reardon is proceeded in death by his parents, James and Anna Reardon. He was survived by his wife, Kathy Reardon (Cohan); daughter, Missy DiGiacomo of Glenolden, Pa.; sons, James Reardon of Springfield, Pa. and Jake Reardon of Merion Station, Pa.; grandchildren, Kathleen, Louis, Mary, Jimmy, McKenna and Coleman; siblings, Tony Reardon of TX, Tina Scott of Brookhaven, Pa., and Bill Reardon of Glenolden, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Carrie Madaline Collins, 88

Carrie Madaline Collins, 88, of Milford, Del. passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She was an adult healthcare aide for most of her life and was a Christian lady that gave and cared for others. She also loved to attend Carey’s Camp near Millsboro.
Collins is preceded in death by her parents, John Francis and Carrie Baker Collins; brothers, Elmer, Chester, Howard, and Ollie; and sisters, Mae and Mildred. She is survived by nieces, Linda Semans and Kay Farrelly; her cousin and special friend, Helen Baker; numerous nieces; nephews; friends; and her feline companion “Kitty.”
Services are set for Friday, February 19, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S Washington Street, Millsboro, Del., where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Millsboro Cemetery.

William “Bill” W. Miller Sr., 69
William “Bill” W. Miller Sr., 69, of Dagsboro, Del. passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at his home. After graduation from high school he served his country for four years serving in the United States Navy. He retired in 1993 after 23 years of service as a Baltimore City Police Officer. During his tenure as a police officer he was also employed for Dunbar Armored working as their firearms instructor. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a life member of the NRA. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, reading, and shooting.
Miller is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Katherine (Woods) Miller; and a sister, Patricia Wicker. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice A. (Gebhardt) Miller; a son William W. Miller, Jr. and his wife Karen of Manassas, Va.; and two grandchildren, Will and Camden Miller.
